Scruples
Design | Production | Product Development
Scruples is a legacy professional haircare brand that’s been delivering salon-grade color and styling products since the 80s. Known for its sleek branding and commitment to high-performance formulas, Scruples has long been a trusted name among stylists who want reliability, innovation, and timeless style.
As an in-house designer, I produced catalogs, developed new products, and created marketing collateral. My role centered on maintaining Scruples’ polished, professional look while keeping the brand visually current and ahead of trend.
Bi-monthly Promotional Catalog
Scruples releases a bi-monthly promotional catalog for distributors, highlighting special deals, new product arrivals, education opportunities, and more—both in print and digital formats. I was responsible for designing and producing each issue from cover to cover, ensuring the content was clear, engaging, and easy to digest.
Throughout every edition, the goal was to uphold Scruples’ sleek, professional salon image—balancing clean layouts, consistent branding, and thoughtful product storytelling to keep the catalog both visually polished and on-trend.
High Definition Product Development
I developed design directions for Scruples’ new High Definition Shampoo & Conditioner line—building on the brand’s best-selling hairspray while exploring a subtle, modern rebrand that stayed true to Scruples’ core values.
Print Design
I created a range of print materials for Scruples, including promotional banners, stationery, and other marketing collateral. Each piece was designed to support the brand’s sleek, professional image while keeping its modern, salon-quality identity front and center. I also designed custom duo wraps that bundled special product pairings, adding a polished, cohesive touch to limited-edition offerings.
Kiwi Color Care Product Development
I was tasked with developing the product design for Scruples’ Kiwi Color Care Shampoo, Conditioner, and Serum—an entirely new line meant to stand apart from the brand’s existing system while still feeling professional. My goal was to keep the look clean and modern, but with a fresh kiwi-inspired essence that hinted at the line’s nourishing ingredients. I also produced all product labels, ensuring the collection felt cohesive, elevated, and ready for both salon shelves and consumer eyes.
